Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) began in 2005, focused on transforming the basic education for nurses to reflect a new identity that demonstrates knowledge, skills, and attitudes that emphasize quality and safety in patient care. In 2016, The College of New Jersey became one of 8 QSEN Institute Regional Centers and serves the Northeast region of the United States, from Maine to Washington, DC with Pennsylvania and New York, under the directorship of Gerry Altmiller, EdD, APRN, ACNS-BC, FAAN.
